"For better or for worse..."
Like a solemn and sacred vow, this could be the dedication of this romantically inspired Pre-Raphaelite notebook, created based on Edward Burne-Jones' painting from 1873 and 1894: "Love Among the Ruins"...
A motif of an inverted mirror that seeks to reflect on the mutual support role within a loving couple...
A heartshaped book once open!
Made of rigid and thick vegetable-tanned cowhide leather, lined with printed cork fabric, and adorned with 40 removable pages of artisanal linen/hemp paper from Papeterie Pasdeloup in Moutier d'Ahun (23).
The design is manually incised and embossed, then dyed and painted with a brush, featuring liquid gold gilding and a varnish finish.
It is assembled with a beige braided leather cord to hold the pages, which can be easily changed or refilled as desired by simple sliding...
It required over 30 hours of meticulous work.
An exceptional and one of a kind creation.
